We have two distinctly different methods of cleaning the fabricated components produced at FMP.
- We have an in house tumble blast machine for cleaning parts in the 1 to 30 pound range. Parts are tumbled in a rotating 'C' shaped barrel while steel shot is propelled against the surface of the fabrication.
- We also contract an outside vendor to tumble blast or hang blast parts. The tumble blast would be done the same as described in number 1 only in a larger machine. For parts that are too large for the tumble blast process our vendor has the capability of blasting the parts in a blast chamber that would provide cleaning by propelling steel shot, sand or glass beads against the surface of the fabrication. This method is often done with a directed spray by a man in a protective suit inside the blast chamber or room.
